Braced

I got them on Oct 1. I cannot say I am thrilled, since this was exactly the treatment I was seeking to avoid. But I'm hanging in, wearing the gross elastics all the time (not just at night as the ortho said I could if I wished) and hoping this time things will come out as planned. Warning to anyone considering invisalign - it cannot move molars forward, teeth tend to tip into extraction sites, and derotating is not a strong feature of the product either. Ask your ortho about this! (Well, I did ask and he said it had never happened in his practice....but yeah)

Here are the pics, although I had taken my elastics out to change them, so they're not in the pic.

Hi friend,

You look great to me! I had silver tinsel-teeth for 2 years (age 16 to 18) and when they were finally off, my BF didn't even notice. He's an Episcopal priest, married, with 3 kids now!

Hope you end up with the smile of your dreams and a perfect bite, too. Hang in there!

Been there, done that hugs! Barbara :D

I was just researching this very topic because I have had invisalign for 8 months now. Everything was going along fine and then canine tooth stopped moving. So my dentist (not an ortho and clearly not trained well in invasalign) just keeps moving me to the previous tray. She'll make me try on trays and put me in the last tray that fit correctly. I have been going backwards more than forewards. I have been wearing my current tray for 3 weeks now and it still won't move. I am starting to freak out that I got scammed. I wish I would have just got traditional braces. I would have been done in a couple of months. She doesn't seem like she knows what to do. I thought i should ask her to take new impressions at the very least. i am glad I found your blog though. I think this is fairly uncommon. It's hard to find this information online.

Are you okay? No updates here for ages, so I hope your teeth and you are fine.

It's Leap Year Day, 2008.

Hugs - Barbara

Just wondering how things are moving along with the sapphire braces?? I will most likely be going down the same route as I have been told that invasalign is probably not the best option for me.

Best of luck

I am very curious how your experienced panned out. Your story is like a great cliffhanger right now for me. I have been considering Invisalign for the last year or so and am just needing that last little boost to push me into getting them. Please update, so we all can see the happy ending!

I accompanied my friend, Norah, to the dentists (Murrells Inlet, SC based) clinic for her appointment and I was amazed when I saw the friendly set-up of the doctor's office. For days, I have been searching online for a reputable Murrells Inlet, SC dentist treatment center within the area because my son's lower teeth are unaligned and I feel that they need to be checked by a specialist. I was able to make an appointment for next week and my son can hardly wait.

When I was a kid, I sure hated my braces but when I saw yours, I wish they made the same braces because I think yours look great!

Were you on the latter part of the treatment during that time? Because your teeth looked like they are almost in place. How are they today after it was taken off? I have had my braces attached recently (4 months) and I’m already noticing some changes. I’ve been dreaming to get my teeth fixed and they are finally coming into place (literally, haha!) I can’t wait to see them after the procedure. So excited!

I was in Denver and my braces broke. It was a very painful experience and hope not to deal with it ever.

It'll all be worth it. I know it's got to be tough to be rocking full braces, when you wanted invisalign but think of the end result.
