July 28, tooth removed (don't look if squeamish!)

I got that tooth out this morning. It wasn't horrible, but it bled a lot for hours because of how it had been located (left a large hole) and I also have a stitch or two that will need to come out next Tuesday. The freezing is almost gone, it's a bit sore but it's feeling the stitches that is driving me nuts!

Hi Dawna,

I didn't know Invisalign would work when you have the teeth that need to drop down into position. Since you just had the tooth pulled, I am guessing you aren't sporting the Invisaligns yet.

I wore the full metal jacket ones for 3 years! I used to get my rubberbands that held the wires in place with colors matching the Seattle Mariners baseball team! Teal and Navy! Woohoo!!!

Anyway, I had to get two teeth pulled (no stitches), both on the bottom and I think either one or two back from the one you got pulled on both sides. Despite permanent retainers, there is still a slight gap on both sides (which had closed when I was wearing the braces).

I also had to get a LeForte Osteotomy I and a LeForte Osteotomy II surgery on both upper and lower jaws. You can probably see what that involves on the internet, if you're interested.

Anyway, I wish you luck and look forward to hearing your thoughts as you go through this process. It is worth it in the end, even having gone through such a surgery. Good luck!

Hi, Dawna! Just popping in to offer some encouragement! I must say you have beautiful teeth and I'm sure they're going to look perfect once the braces have done their job!
Anyway, I hope that tooth being pulled wasn't too painful, it certainly did look like it needed to come out due to lack of space.
Take care now.
Carmen.

Yipeee! It works just fine, thank you kindly!!

Plan to have soft food to eat for about 2 or 3 days after each time your braces are tightened. I made the painful mistake of biting into a hamburger for my first meal after the first tightening. Huge mistake that I didn't make ever again!

I'll stay tuned!!

Cheers! Barbara :D

Hey Dawna ---

It's good to see another blogger keeping notes on their Invisalign experience. I'm changing out aligners tomorrow to my 14th set out of 23 total (both top & bottom). All has been going as great as I possibly could have hoped for so far & I'm well past the halfway point of my initial plan.

Hope all goes as well for you! I'll be staying tuned too & you're welcome to visit me at mine, too:
